Data Visualisation
University Assignment
In this assignment we were asked to create a visual representation using data of our own choice. One group of data must be represented in a physical way. We were also required to have a design document to show our process and the final data visualisation as a whole.
For my project, my partner and I chose data surrounding animal testing in Australia. The physical representation showed how many animals were affected in a single year in each of the Australian states.
The Physical Design
The physical design was made by placing plastic animals painted in red (to represent the affects of animal testing and to bring emotion to the design) in piles on the states of Australia. Each animal represented 1000 animals used in the year of 2016.
The Infographic
The design document contains the final infographic as well as the raw data that was used, the source of data and the process my partner and I went through.
